  • Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Board Certification, Residency at the University of Texas

Background and Experience

Dr. Hyzy is a Chicago native but moved to Florida in his youth and began his medical training pursuit. While serving as Chief resident during his medical residency, Dr. Hyzy had clinical experiences in Physiatry, Surgical and Non-Surgical Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Interventional Physiatry, Pain Management, and Interventional Spine and Regenerative Medicine. This experience fueled his desire for further training in Interventional Orthopedics and Regenerative Medicine.

He was subsequently honored to be chosen as an Interventional Orthopedic Fellow at The Centeno-Schultz Clinic. Dr. Hyzy is now an attending physician at The Centeno-Schultz Clinic where he is an integral part of the Interventional Orthopedics fellowship program and the clinical research team. Dr. Hyzy is a clinical instructor for the Interventional Orthopedics Foundation and has numerous publications on the use of autologous orthobiologics for orthopedic and spinal conditions.

Accomplishments

Dr. Hyzy was the recipient of the Texas Pain Society P.M.R. Scholarship and received an Outstanding Student Leadership Award from the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association. In addition, Dr. Hyzy received the LECOM Scholarship two years running, the A.O.A. T.O.U.C.H. award, the Dr. Charles A. Preuss Medical Award, as well as the University of West Florida; John C. Pace Jr. Scholar Award for Leadership and Academic Excellence.

Personal Interests

Outside of Medicine, Dr. Hyzy maintains an active lifestyle in the Rocky Mountains. He enjoys paddle boarding, mountain biking, yoga, international cuisine, and spending time with his family and friends.
