Earlier this month, we recognised World Radiography Day – a perfect opportunity to shine a spotlight on the skilled professionals who make our image-guided regenerative orthopedic treatments possible. To celebrate, we sat down with our own radiographer, Steven, to get his perspective on precision, patient care, and what makes Regenexx Cayman’s approach so unique. Here’s what he had to share.

Welcome to Regenexx Cayman – home to some of the most precise orthopedic PRP and stem cell procedures. Accuracy isn’t just part of what we do here; it’s the foundation of every patient outcome we strive to deliver.

As a radiographer who has been part of the Regenexx Cayman team for nine years, I’ve seen firsthand how deeply our clinic values precision, safety, and continuous improvement. Our physicians and staff are committed to refining techniques as new research emerges, always keeping patient outcomes at the center of every decision. And if there’s one lesson that has stayed with me throughout my time here, it’s this: accuracy matters.

At Regenexx Cayman, every injection is performed under image guidance. Our image-guided techniques use a combination of X-ray fluoroscopy and ultrasound to visualize the exact treatment point before delivering PRP or stem cells. This allows our physicians to treat precise structures, such as cartilage, ligaments, tendons, bone, and facet joints with confidence.

Some regenerative clinics skip image guidance entirely, but the truth is that some areas of the body simply cannot be treated safely or effectively without it. Structures like the shoulder or hip labrum, the inferior glenohumeral ligament, or the cervical and lumbar facet joints are surrounded by sensitive nerves, arteries, and veins. Navigating these areas without visualization isn’t just risky, it can mean the difference between a successful regenerative outcome and a missed opportunity.

Every procedure begins with a detailed visualization of the treatment area. Our team identifies, highlights, and confirms the exact structure being treated before delivering a carefully measured amount of biologic material. Regenexx’s controlled research studies guide the specific volumes of mesenchymal stem cells or PRP used for each tissue type – because image-guided precision isn’t just about “hitting the spot,” it’s about delivering the right dose to the right place.

And for less sensitive areas? Patients who opt for local anesthesia only can watch their treatment unfold in real time. Seeing an ACL on screen while the physician guides an injection into the ligament is a remarkable experience, and one that highlights the attention to detail behind every procedure.

My journey as a radiographer with Regenexx Cayman came full circle when I became a patient myself. After sustaining ACL and meniscus tears in both knees, I underwent Regenexx treatments and experienced the same life-changing results that I had seen in so many of our patients. I went from chronic pain and inflammation to days where I hardly remember the injuries ever happened. That transformation gave me an even deeper appreciation for the work we do.

As regenerative medicine continues to evolve, so do we. Every advancement in research, every refinement in technique, and every success story fuels our commitment to delivering the highest level of accuracy and care.

I’m proud of the work we do at Regenexx Cayman, and even more excited for the innovations still to come. Here’s to continuing the pursuit of exceptional outcomes, one precisely guided injection at a time.

Our team remains committed to delivering the highest standard of care – guided by expertise, research, and technology.
